Medicare Provider Numbers

Please note the following information provided to ADASA by Medicare:

The provider registration teams are experiencing their peak processing season, and this is resulting in a delay in the processing of provider number applications.  Provider number applications are processed by date of receipt to ensure procedural fairness.  The provider numbers may be backdated if legislation permits.

Initial applications must be processed manually, however once dentists have this initial provider number they will be able to register for  Health Professionals Online Service (HPOS), and be able to create provider numbers online.
