The journey to definitive endodontic treatment begins with an accurate diagnosis. However, accurate diagnosis is not always straightforward due to the complexity of signs and symptoms. Also, it is established that the histological status of the pulp does not always correlate with clinical signs and symptoms. The Diagnostic Dilemma will thus focus on how to better utilize the tools we have to diagnose disease and understand what is involved in properly diagnosing endodontic problems, with a focus on case examples.
