The Art and Satisfaction of Posterior Composites - Workshop, 9 August 2019

Posterior Composite Hands-on Workshop, 13 July 2018
The presenter for this workshop is Dr Ben Sellick (Prosthodontist).

Registration is open. 6 places left.

The restoration of posterior teeth with direct composite resin can be a demanding and challenging exercise requiring a meticulous chair-side technique in order to achieve predictable and successful results. A number of factors require careful consideration if an aesthetic, durable, functional and symptom-free result is desired: case and material selection; cavity preparation; matrix selection; isolation; bonding; management of polymerisation shrinkage and resin placement; curing, finishing and polishing of posterior composites − all present a series of challenges that clinicians must master to achieve high-quality, long-lasting restorations. This lecture and hands-on workshop programme will seek to address these challenges and provide attendees with the tools for satisfying posterior composite restorations.

Learning Objectives:
- Case Selection - KISS Principle
- Cavity Preparation – do we need Black’s classification system anymore?
- Matrix Selection – what system to use, where to use it and why?
- Isolation – why you need it and how to achieve it
- Bonding systems – a practical overview
- Shrinkage – how do we manage ?
- Placement & shaping – layering and single-shade options/The frustrated artist in us all
- Curing – to what extent does this matter?
- Finishing & Polishing – Armamentarium, techniques and tips
