Biomimetic Aesthetic Dentistry Workshop - Saturday, 25 June 2022

Biomimetic dentistry is a paradigm shift from traditional mechanical retention based dentistry, to modern adhesive dentistry.

This workshop has reached capacity. If you would like to go on the cancellation list please email Sally at [email protected]

With biomimetic techniques and gold standard materials, bond strengths to dentine can be achieved stronger than the bond of enamel to dentine at the DEJ.

This approach maximises tooth preservation as tooth structure removal for retention and resistance forms are made redundant.

Course Objectives:
In this course you will learn how to maximise bond strengths in posterior composites using biomimetic techniques.  You will then put this into practice with a simplified protocol to recreate natural posterior tooth morphology.  You will also learn and practice an evidence based protocol to simplify complex class 2 restorations, and utilise the semi-direct technique for composite onlays.

Learning Outcomes:
- How to maximise bond strengths in posterior composites using biomimetic techniques
- Learn key features of posterior tooth morphology
- Hands-on restoring quadrant of posterior teeth
- Hands-on direct and semi-direct techniques for co
mposite onlays
-
Hands-on complex class 2 matrixing scenarios

This workshop is presented by Dr Bill Gergis.

Since graduation he has built a successful Adelaide practice from scratch, which delivers biomimetic and aesthetic dentistry to the highest standards. Having a passion for teaching, Bill taught at the University of Adelaide at one stage. He now shares his knowledge and techniques with over 20,000 dentist followers on Instagram, and has formed the Biomimetic Aesthetic Dentistry group with colleagues Dr TIm Maxwell, Dr Maheer Shah, and Dr Steven Schiffenhaus. This group aims to educate dentists on the science-based practice of biomimetic dentistry that not only restores teeth to their natural function, but also appearance. Bill has also invented a range of custom dentistry instruments, which have been immensely popular. Being an avid traveler and hiker, Bill has also recently taken up photography as a hobby.
