Managing a patient with Renal Disease - A Special Needs presentation in conjunction with the Royal Flying Doctor Service.

The Australian Dental Association, SA Branch in conjunction and with the support of The Royal Flying Doctor Service Central Operations (RFDS) invites all dentists to attend this informative talk given Dr Keng Yeoh.
The RFDS will also take this opportunity to showcase their new mobile dental set up. In the last two years the RFDS has commenced providing Oral Health Services in some of South Australia and Northern Territory’s remotes communities. This is an opportunity to experience cutting edge frontier dentistry.

Presentation overview

- A presentation of the current renal service and acute care for rural and remote populations in Australia
- The relationships between renal disease and oral health
- Role of a dentist in an integrated care pathway 
- Level of dental care and dental treatment for patients with Chronic Kidney Disease 
- Dental treatment of renal patients on dialysis
- Dental Care for patients with kidney transplant


Our speaker: Dr Keng Yeoh
Keng graduated from The University of Adelaide with Bachelor of Dental Surgery. While working in both the private and public dental sector, he completed an Honors Degree of Bachelor of Science in Dentistry and a Diploma in Clinical Hypnosis (Pain management). He subsequently undertook a three-year full-time specialist training program at the University of Adelaide and graduated with a Doctorate of Clinical Dentistry in Special Needs Dentistry.
Keng currently works at the Special Needs Unit, Adelaide Dental Hospital, SA Dental Service. He is still active in supervising undergraduate students and involving at the Practice Support Committee, Australian Dental Association (SA Branch). 

Please note this Study Club will be held offsite at the Royal Flying Doctor Service.

Where: The Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS), 1 Tower Road, Adelaide Airport
Time: Registration and refreshments available from 5.45pm
Tour of the RFDS facility: 6.15pm - 6.45pm (if you would like to take part in the tour please arrive by 6.15pm)
CPD presentation: 6.45pm - 8pm (approximate finish time)

No cost to attend for ADASA members. Study Clubs are for dentists who graduated within the last ten years but all ADASA member dentists are welcome to attend.
